Well from my own personal experience, don't use hydrogen peroxide. I got the prescription strength hydrogen peroxide gel from the dentist today with an in-home whitening kit and this stuff STINGS. I used it today for the first time and it also temporarily turned my gums white. Yes, they were whiter than my teeth. With whitening trays the gel always hits your gums and can cause sensitivity and chemical burns.

Try baking soda. I've heard good things about it. It's too bad I didn't know about it until AFTER I paid $130 for professional in-home whitening. The worst part is I have 13 more days of this crap to go before my treatment is done.
