Open Question: Wisdom teeth removal recovery problems?

I would definitely speak to your dentist right away. I had mine removed with little problem as well, and within a week the pain was gone (save for a faint discomfort at the actual gum where the wisdom teeth were removed). The only discomfort I would imagine you should be feeling now is just the stiffness in the jaw (this is usually from having your mouth pried wide open for the length of the surgery, this lasted for me about ten days before I felt I could talk/smile without any discomfort). If the wound is still hurting, you may have dry sockets (the pain should have decreased with every passing day, not stayed the same or increased), in which case you NEED to return to your dentist, they should have given you literature/lecture on this (this can develop during the healing process, usually in the first 2-5 days after surgery, so even a surgery without complications can result in dry sockets later, whether you're taking good care of the area or not).

As to the rest of your teeth hurting: I'm not an oral surgeon, but I don't believe that's normal, and you need to forget simply allowing people to reassure you and call the dentist and insist on going back in (they should have required you to schedule a follow up visit in the first week after surgery).

Wisdom tooth removal IS basic, but there are many complications that can occur during and after, simply because everyone has it done, and it hurts, doesn't mean that your pain at this point is normal. When in doubt, and when things are suspect, return to your doctor!

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon :)
