Open Question: What are these two extractions for, and are they nessecary?

Lahhhhhh... Member since:September 19, 2008Total points:1,370 (Level 3)Okay, so I have a canine tooth that won't come out. I've already lost all my other teeth.
They say they'll have to pull out my baby tooth, then an ADULT tooth next to it. Then, they'll pull down the adult tooth above the baby tooth they took out, down, with a chain.
What is this called? Does anyone have good information about it? How often does it happen? Is it painful?
