Well, I was on a nice hefty local anasthetic for the same thing and it was great... until it started to wear off. I took the drug route; the doctor handed me a prescription for Cocodamol...

Without that, trust me, I was all set for an appointment with ice.... two lumps in every glass of finest Highland malt whisky until I couldn't feel my mouth any more. If you don't mind a hangover, that'll work. Seriously, the best option in this situation is the doctor and the heftiest pain relief they can prescribe.

You have my sympathy... that's a bloody sore one. And I'm genuinely sorry I can't be more help than this.
