Open Question: I just got my braces off but I have a couple questions...?

I'm getting my retainer in 2 weeks but is it possible for my teeth to shift during the 2 weeks? Andd im kinda scared to eat hard hard foods since I don't want my teeth to shift. I just wanna make sure my they stay this way haha .. All answers are appreciated (:Answer Questionthey might shift but not enuogh to keep you from eating hard foods. you shud enjoy the 2 weeks you have of no appliances. teeth are strong enough to keep there hold for 2 weeks!!

by Myles Alden Member since:January 26, 2011Total points:84 (Level 1)Yes it is fully possible for your teeth to shift, but as long as you are gentle on eating hard foods with your front teeth, ie apples carrots, but as long as you. Are gentle, you should be fine. Just be cautious. You can feel your teeth move. If your instincts say your tooth has too much pressure, then listen to it. NEVER FORGET OR PROCRASTINATE WEARING YOUR RETAINER.I had braces as well. That's all :)Yes, they will shift slightly, but unless you're eating rocks, they shouldn't shift too much. Just lay off the crunchy and hard food until you get your retainers. Since your teeth will shift a bit, your retainer will shift them back to their original shape if you wear it the way your orthodontist tells you to.
