Well from my experience; and I've took them off just today! Yayy! :D
(I have "abnormally sensitive teeth" as to what my orthodontist told me.)
The more you tighten your braces, the less it would hurt, because usually it takes the first few times for the braces to make dramatic changes to your teeth! And you're still kinda adjusting to it.
As you see your teeth looking better, I'm sure it would hurt less each time! From first(very painful) to last (it felt like nothing happened.)
You'll be alright (: You will gradually adjust to it. Trust me (:

Right now, I'm trying to adjust to my new retainers! I can't even talk correctly without spitting at someone's face with it. D':
