This is going to sound really shallow, but it has really affected my self-esteem. Before my underbite became prominent, no one ever made fun of my appearance, but ever since I turned ten and it started to show I seem to get loads of remarks made about my appearance. Most of these are from boys.

I'm now about to have jaw surgery (or soon, anyway) and I was just wondering if maybe it's my jaw that has made my face so horrible. My nose, eyes and eyebrows are perfectly fine, I'm quite happy about them, but my mouth seems too small, my face isn't symmetrical and my chin is HUGE, and a really weird shape. I have a severe underbite and severe crossbite, so I'm asking anyone who has had jaw surgery to correct their jaw has had a remarkable transformation in their appearance. Did your chin become smaller after surgery? Did your face shape change? How old were you when you had surgery, and do you need braces - I'm sixteen years old and I stopped growing a couple of years ago, so I'm hoping to have the surgery as soon as possible.

It makes me really depressed to see photos of myself from when I was a child, when I was kind of pretty. So please answer truthfully, will I look much, much better, like my old self, after the surgery? Thank you! :)
