after my last cleaning at the dentist i noticed a u shaped crack/indent in my lower tooth next to the canine..think its called a premolar? the crack is about a cm above the gumline....and the tooth above it has a verticle crack going down it, i think something went wrond during my cleaning...any ideas? thx

Hello, It's very unlikely anything went wrong when you had your teeth cleaned. Unless the dental office has an unusual way of doing things the dentist examined your teeth "after" the cleaning and would have noticed anything unusual or wrong with your teeth. "If" however you are seeing something strange like a crack or just a scrape like looking streak on a tooth, the only thing that comes to mind would be that the person who cleaned your teeth may have used an "Ultra-sonic" scaler and held to the surface to long or had it turned up to high and it damaged the enamel. If you now have doubts about the office you went to go to another for an evaluation of the issue that you see. Good luck and I wish you well.
