It was over the holiday weekend. The gum looked like it had a marble beneath it for months. Dr didn't seem concerned. His other molar came in no problem. Then the gum just started to peel off in a huge chunk over the weekend. Finally on Sunday night, it fell off and now there's a huge hole, but you can see and feel the molar coming through. No infection, no puss, he was actually not as cranky as you would imagine.
Was this an impacted molar? No one I've told says they've ever heard of the gum swelling for three months and then just falling off, allowing the molar to come in.
We don't have dental insurance yet. I will see his Dr in a week.
