My mother saw a dentist who performed a root canal. After the root canal my mother had severe pain. After a post op check up the dentist said my mother had a canker sore and prescribed antibiotics. On a return visit after antibiotics were complete, the dentist realized that said canker sore was actually exposed bone. Due to the antibiotics my mother also had stomach problems and got a yeast infection.

The dentist then referred my mother to a specialist who performed a second root canal on a different tooth. She is still experiencing pain and the issues have not been resolved.

Would this be grounds for a dental malpractice lawsuit?
