I am getting braces in about a month and I am trying to reassure myself that I wont have to wear them for years and years. On my first visit, the orthodontist told me that he thought I would have braces for about a year but seemed a little vague and on my second visit a second orthodontist told me general time is 18 months it could be longer or it could be shorter. I have no overbite and fairly minor crowding on my top teeth (I have a fang kind of situation). I was wondering if anyone could tell me minimum and maximum times for braces/ how long they think I will have to wear braces. For example once the teeth are straightened is there an allotted time for the braces to stay on after this or do they come straight off etc?
