Around 2 weeks back I went for a tooth extraction, i had only taken penicillin for 4 days, then went to get the extraction done, it was supposed to be a one week antibiotic course of penicillin, amoxicillin or ampicillin. But I only did 4 days and really didnt take them as suggested (time-wise). So I went for the tooth extraction, he injected me to numb me, about 10 min passed by. Still no numbness even the dentist was worried, he injected again and again around 3 o 4 times in different areas, but it would not get numb due to the unsuccessfully beaten infection. So I went to the dentist to get aroudn 4 or 5 oral shots for no reason, all those shots and I only felt slightly numb whenever the dentist would touch my tooth with his tools it would hurt like hell. So 2 weeks later, today I went to the dentist and he told me that he couldnt do anything to my teeth because I could not open my mouth wide enough due to the inflammation and injury of the past injections. Little by little the pain is going away when I open my mouth as wide as I can. But the doctor told me to take muscle relaxants for 1 week to get my jaw fixed and be able to open my mouth all the way to proceed with the tooth extraction.

what medications or methods would work for healing inflamed and painful injection sites.

my dentist prescribed me
naproxen
or robaxen (because naproxen causes my stomach to ache so bad)

is this necesarry, do you think the inflamed site will heal naturally in the week I got left to recover so I can get my 2 teeth extracted . or should I take one of those medications prescribed?

its been 2 weeks and i still have pain when i try to open my mouth all the way, my appointment is on saturday and i need to be able to open my mouth at least a little wider, what medicine would help with that?
