How to get rid of a toothache?

Go to a dentist and get it x-rayed. You might have an abscess. See if the tooth is sensitive to hot and cold. Also gently tap the tooth with the handle of a spoon and if really hurts then its likely abscessed. In the meantime you can rinse the area with warm water and about 1/2 teaspoon of salt. DO NOT put cold water on it. Also, you can get a small amount oil of cloves at a health food store and put a bit on the gum right beside the tooth. Take Motrin too..it's a pain pill that often helps. In the end go to a dentist if it doesn't go away.
Good luck.
