Open Question: How long would metal braces take to close a gap in front teeth?

Home >All Categories > Health >Dental >Open QuestionMy gap size is a little over medium (at least to me). My gums come down in between it a little. Would the orthodontist have to surgically remove some of the gums to close it completely. Can braces close any size gap?Answer Question

Chris by Chris Member since:June 16, 2009Total points:1,879 (Level 3)The gap would close almost immediately, but in order for your teeth to stay there, the braces need to stay on for a long time (generally a year or two). An orthodontist can assess your specific situation.Ashlee by Ashlee Member since:June 25, 2010Total points:107 (Level 1)i had a over bite, they have to put a thing thing my mouth and i had to turn a key in it every night, it made my teeth closer together and i had braces too, so yes.Ylimerocks by Ylimeroc... My orthodontist said it was fine. It does depend on the orthodontist, though.
