Open Question: what is an orthodontic bite block?
I was supposed to get my bottom set of braces today (or so I thought), but I was told that my top teeth needed to adjust more before I get the bottoms because I need bite blocks. What is a bite block and what exactly is it for?http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110621080835AAn4k7S" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">View the original article here

Open Question: Lip sore from dipping?
Home >All Categories > Health >Dental >Open Question andy miller Member since:December 07, 2008Total points:334 (Level 2)Now I have dipped for a while, but not as much as recently. Just recently I've gone through a couple of cans of Grizzly Wintergreen Pouches. At first it was fine, but then my lip started getting tender and sore and it appeared to be getting white cankor sores. Then some of it started peeling off into a sort of white skin, almost resembling Leukoplakia, but I haven't been dipping long enough for that to happen. I actually split those two cans with a buddy. Yesterday, I got a can of Copenhagen Wintergreen Long Cut and it had about the same effect. It seems like the Wintergreen flavor irritates it the most. Any advice or knowledge on what this is?Answer Question by its me Member since:November 15, 2009Total points:737 (Level 2)sounds like a smokless tobacco case. stop it :Dhttp://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110621091022AAr4DFh" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">View the original article here
Open Question: I lost my top retainer. What do I do?!?
Home >All Categories > Health >Dental >Open Question Mario Mario Member since:May 05, 2011Total points:81 (Level 1)I recently went to the mall with friends today, and when we went to eat, I took out both my top and bottom retainers and stuffed it in my pocket. But when I came home just now and felt the inside of my pocket, only the bottom retainer was there! I don't know if they have a lost and found for the entire mall, but I tried calling the mall but NO ONE picks up! I tried going back to my Orthodontist (University of Toronto) and they said that my session with her is done and I'd have to go to another Dentist to get another one. What do I do now, I dont want my teeth to move!! Its been atleast a month now! Please help! D:Answer Question by F Member since:June 05, 2009Total points:242 (Level 1)Try going to the mall and looking for it, and try looking in your car to see if it fell out of your pocket. The most likely places where you lost it are where you sat down and it could have dropped out there. Also, I'd try calling your orthodontist again. If you lost one of your retainers, they're supposed to make another one for you even if you have to pay for it again. The orthodontist should have understood the situation....or how long have you been using the retainers? If it's been for like 5 years or so, then the retainers shouldn't be that necessary anymore. I'd still keep the bottom retainers on though.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110621092002AAac3zf" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">View the original article here
Open Question: Had baby tooth(canine tooth) pulled, adult tooth fully grown, not coming down? 1 yr?
Home >All Categories > Health >Dental >Open Question Michael Member since:July 21, 2009Total points:309 (Level 2)I'm 14. About a year ago I had my two canine teeth pulled, because I had lost all my teeth a while before that, but the canines weren't coming out and my two adult canine teeth were fully grown above it. One has grown in too high up, but it is grown out and i have a normal tooth, and I'm getting a bracket on my braces to pull it down (should be very quick and easy). If it makes a difference i have an underbite that isn't very bad thats being fixed with the braces and rubber bands. And I have springs on my braces to widen the area that the tooth needs to come down. Now, its been a year, and i can almost see the white of the tooth in my gum, but if i put my tounge under the canine area of my gum, I cant feel anything. So will it eventually come down out of my gum!? How can I make it come out!?Answer Question by Melissa1... Member since:June 28, 2010Total points:174 (Level 1)I've been getting my twelve yr molars coming in and massaging the gum above the tooth seems to help it break through. once it breaks the surface it comes in fast.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110621085450AAgDWrx" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">View the original article here
Open Question: How do I pull a bottom molar baby tooth out?
Home >All Categories > Health >Dental >Open Question Melissa1... Member since:June 28, 2010Total points:174 (Level 1)I'm getting braces and they want me to pull it out, but it's not very loose and I don't want it to get pulled by a doctor. Please don't just say wait for it to come on it's own or just wiggle it because my teeth come out really slowly and I need this faster than that. It's my last baby tooth so I don't want it pulled by a dentist or for it to be really painful. I want tricks to get it looser. Also please do helpful tips not things like eat an apple or tie it to a doorknob. BTW I'm 13 yrs old, so I want it to come out soon because ur supposed to have all ur baby teeth out by the time ur 12Answer QuestionBe the first to answer this question.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110621085804AAQI5X3" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">View the original article here
