right. im 12, nearly 13, and on my sisters account (she's fine with it.) and this is the second time iv posted this but thats because i accidentally posted it in languages last time.... but basically i wondered if any orthos out there could listen to what my orthodontist wants to do with my teeth.
firstly, he looked at them and said i had class 2 division 2 (i think thats right) jaw. he also said i had a weak chin, which i had probably inherited from my dad. i also have an overbite. what he wants to do is make room for my upper canines (which are just erupting) by pulling out my upper pre-molars, as he says they dont have enough room, but i think my right one will. anyway, he also said i should consider wearing a functional appliance( removable twin block) to pull my jaw forwards, but that it might not work. he said that it would make my teeth stick out so i would then need traintracks, and then a retainer. cost is not what bothers me, because i can get it on the NHS, but i wanted to know if all this stuff is what he should be suggesting? will this treatment improve my facial profile, and how i look from the front? and what are the risks of this functional appliance?
