I just got my braces off a couple of days ago and the bottom retainer is cutting into my tongue. You see I'm tongue tied, so it sticks into my lingual frenulum causing a great deal of pain. I tried filing it down, but the only effect was to move the cutting to a different spot. Also I can't get into the orthodontist for a week. Are there any ways I can alleviate this pain?!?
