My bottom retainer just cracked open last week when I was putting it in for some weird reason. Also, a month before that, the plastic on it tore apart. How do I repair my retainer temporarily until my next orthodontist appointment? Is it possible? And also, has it ever happened to you after you got your braces off? I would appreciate any advice that you can give.

By the way, I got my retainer only 4 months ago, and do they not make retainers as durable as they used to anymore? My mom's has lasted for 9 years with only a small hole in it.
