Rubber bands between teeth?

Hi, I have had braces for a few months now and now I have small rubber bands inbetween my molars to seperate them. They kept on falling out so my ortho told me to just push them back in if they do i did and they went really far up my teeth. It hurts alot more now and feels alot more sensitive. Can anything bad come out of this?
