Open Question: Wisdom teeth removal swelling?? For how long?

Home >All Categories > Health >Dental >Open Questionx~ciNnAboNN~x x~ciNnAb... Member since:April 28, 2010Total points:21 (Level 1)I'm getting my wisdom teeth cut out March 30, and I need to have an idea of how long the swelling will last and how to reduce it?? Because I have a performance at school 4 days after the surgery and i don't want to do it with my face fat!! :/
My teeth haven't erupted through The gum yet, so I also heard that makes it swell more after since they have to cut in?? Also does it hurt a lot after?? Nervous!! :/Answer Question

rawrrrrr. by rawrrrrr... Member since:December 14, 2010Total points:921 (Level 2)don't worry! having your wisdom teeth removed is so easy. you go in, get blood taken and you have a needle in your arm but just don't move your arm or look at it. then they put the mask with laughing gas on your face and you fall asleep. then when you wake up you will be very loopy lol. you probably won't remember anything for about 20 minutes after that. you will have cotton in your mouth to clean up the blood and ickyness.
but the swelling goes down after about 2 days.
you'll be fine!selwood2001 by selwood2... Member since:November 07, 2007Total points:144 (Level 1)surely if you really want to know about how much swelling to expect, ask the person who has examined your mouth, taken xrays and advised the treatment, ie ask your dentistExpect swelling to last for 1-2 weeks. I have always recommended to my patients to start taking 2000 mg of vitamin C daily 2 weeks before their surgery to minimize or eliminate post op swelling. If you decide to do this, spread the dosage out so that you take 500 mg morning, noon, dinner time, and before bed. If you take vitamin C all at the same time, it all goes out of the body the next time you go to the bathroom.

Open Question: why are only two teeth yellow? please help?

Open Question: why are only two teeth yellow? please help?

I think it could be because of your braces, maybe you didn't clean two of them as well as the others??

Maintaining good oral hygiene is one of the most important things you can do for your teeth and gums. Healthy teeth not only allow you to look and feel good, they make it possible to eat and speak properly. Good oral health is important to your overall healthy living being. Daily defensive care, including proper brushing and flossing, will help stop problems before they start to develop and is much less painful, expensive, and worrisome than treating conditions that have been allowed to start cause.

The most important thing is to brush your teeth regularly. Brush in the morning, after every meal, and before you go to sleep. Using a fluoride rinse in the morning and at night will not only help with keeping your teeth whiter but also healthy. Fluoride this is the most important ingredient in toothpastes it keeps teeth strong and toothpastes with fluoride prevent cavities better than those without. Flossing isn't just a way to dislodge food wedged between your teeth. Regular flossing reduces cavities, gum disease and bad breath by helping to remove the bacterial filled called plaque that forms along the gum line.

Drinking water and milk both are healthy alternatives to pop and other such soft drinks. Milk supports healthy teeth and bones, and water is naturally clean and doesn't normally contain damaging, harmful bacteria or additives that can harm your teeth.

There's a lot of stuff out there that can destroy your teeth and make them yellow. Coffee is horrible for your teeth. Can easily stain and potentially rot your teeth. Chocolate, the dark and rich texture can wear away and discolor the tooth enamel. Pop is just as bad for your teeth just as it is for your stomach, your weight, and many other physical traits. Pop rots and discolors teeth, and though you might not realize it, but the dark drinks will stick to your teeth long after you drink them. Smoking, aside from all the other examples of bad health smoking causes, tobacco and smoke will stain and weaken teeth. All of these things are horrible for your teeth not only damaging them but causing them to change in giving you an ugly yellow smile.

Something that is easy to use everyday, will whiten your smile and get rid of your embarrassing yellow teeth, is trying Aquafresh White Trays, there pre-filled to give you the perfect does every time. The trays stay put and the soft, think, flexible shape give you a custom fit. Trays only need to be used once a day for visibly whiter teeth.

Or a try a toothpaste that has extracts of whitening!

Try using Dentyne whitening Strips
or use Some sort of whitening marker for your teeth.

Use mouthwash at least once a day. You don't need to use it more than three times a day :)

Keep brushing mainly - you should brush your teeth three times a day, if it doesn't go away within half a month or so, then my next advice would be to go to the dentist and have them cleaned! You could always talk to your dentist about it!

Whitening might whiten them but I don't believe it will help your teeth! The best way is to do it healthily :)

Avoid sugary drinks for a while maybe - and fruit juices that contain lots of sugar like apple juice!

So: floss

Listerine pre-brush whitening mouth wash

brush with Plus+White bleaching Enhancer and Crest Vivid White toothpaste.

Same thing at night but finish it off with the regular Listerine mouth wash.

Hope I could help :D also I might have repeated some things twice!

Open Question: Wisdom Teeth Removal?

Home >All Categories > Health >Dental >Open QuestionEmmybear_22 Emmybear... Member since:September 30, 2009Total points:563 (Level 2)I am getting all four of my wisdom teeth out tomorrow (plus tissue on my back teeth for my braces) and I plan on being knocked out. Will I be completely knocked out if they use gas on me? I have heard that you'll be in a twilight sleep if they knock you out, so I just wasn't sure. Also, how long should I wait before I start swimming or running again? My surgeon said they're not too impacted to where I could go back to school the next day. I am really nervous and am wanting to not have an extensive amount of pain? Also, do the gums and area heal after a couple months or does it just take a couple weeks? I am also concerned with them doing this procedure with my braces on.... Please help. 10 points go to best answer!!!Answer Question
